Relative to the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the invasion of Normandy.

This measure would recognize June 6, 2019, as the 75th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy, also known as D-Day. This measure would express the gratitude and appreciation of the Legislature to the members of the United States Armed Forces who participated in D-Day, and would call upon the people of California to observe the anniversary with appropriate reflections and recognition.

Relative to National Military Appreciation Month.

This measure would honor the service members who have served and are serving in our nation's military, and would recognize the month of May 2019 as National Military Appreciation Month.

Relative to the President's National Emergency Declaration.

This measure would urge the houses of the United States Congress to stand in unity and block the President's national emergency declaration by overriding the veto of House Joint Resolution 46 and, if not possible, to consider terminating the declaration of national emergency within 6 months or at the earliest possible time pursuant to the National Emergencies Act. The measure would urge the President to reconsider his motives and decision and allow military, defense, and counterdrug funds to be used for the purposes for which they are needed and for which they were made available.

Relative to the Month of the Military Child.

This measure would declare the month of April 2019 as the Month of the Military Child, and would urge all Californians, local and state leaders, private organizations, and businesses to observe the month by showing appreciation to the children and youth of military and veteran families, including children of the fallen, for standing by their parents and loved ones who are serving or have served as members of the Armed Forces of the United States.

Relative to California Aerospace and Aviation Days.

This measure would recognize the contributions of the aerospace and aviation industries to the history, economy, security, and educational system of California, its communities, and its citizens by proclaiming the days of April 1, 2019, through April 3, 2019, as California Aerospace and Aviation Days.

Relative to California Attractions and Parks Day.

This measure would recognize March 14, 2019, as California Attractions and Parks Day, and would declare that the Legislature intends to take actions to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the California Attractions and Parks Association and celebrate the organization's important role and many contributions to California's tourism industry through its promotion, support, and sponsorship of a wide variety of activities and programs at attractions and parks throughout the state.
