Maddy summaryThis bill modifies tax credit rules for nuclear power plants to allow them to claim investment credits without certain restrictions that currently apply to other energy facilities. Specifically, it removes a limitation that previously prevented public utility companies from claiming these credits for nuclear facilities and eliminates a rule that capped credits based on how quickly the project was completed. These changes would affect nuclear power generators and investors starting with taxable years beginning after December 31, 2026. The bill does not create new tax credits but adjusts existing ones to treat nuclear facilities more similarly to other qualified energy projects.

Maddy summaryThis bill, titled the Trump Accounts for All Generations Act, makes a specific program related to "Trump accounts" permanent and adjusts its contribution limits. It directly affects individuals who contribute to these accounts by altering their long-term availability and value. The legislation permanently extends the "Trump accounts" contribution program by removing its scheduled expiration date of January 1, 2029. Furthermore, it introduces an annual inflation adjustment for the program's $1,000 contribution amount, beginning in taxable years after 2028. The bill also removes the word "pilot" from the program's title and related sections of the tax code, formally establishing it as an ongoing program.
Maddy summaryThis resolution formally recognizes the 100th anniversary of the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI), a trade organization founded in 1926. The bill commends SAAMI for developing industry standards that ensure firearms and ammunition are safe, reliable, and interchangeable. It acknowledges the organization's work in coordinating with government bodies, international standards groups, and industry stakeholders to maintain consistent safety practices. This measure is a ceremonial resolution that does not change any laws or regulations but serves to honor SAAMI's century of leadership in the firearms industry.
Maddy summaryThis bill establishes new safety and medical requirements for "unified boxing organizations" (UBOs), which are boxing groups that manage title belts and rankings without separate sanctioning bodies. It directly affects UBOs and boxers under their contracts by mandating comprehensive medical screenings (including annual physicals, brain MRIs, and pregnancy tests for female boxers), requiring two ambulances and three physicians at ringside during matches, and providing boxers with mandatory health insurance covering $25,000 in injury costs. Key provisions include strict anti-doping testing protocols (with no cost to boxers), prohibitions on boxers betting on matches, and UBOs covering all medical expenses. The bill also requires UBOs to register publicly with the Federal Trade Commission and adhere to updated industry standards for boxer compensation and safety.
Enhanced Iran Sanctions Act of 2025 This bill imposes sanctions on certain foreign persons (individuals and entities) that are involved in Iran's petroleum sector as well as certain associated persons. The bill also requires or authorizes actions to facilitate the enforcement of sanctions on Iran. Specifically, the bill requires the President to impose visa- and property-blocking sanctions on any foreign person that, after the bill's enactment, knowingly engages in any transaction related to the processing, export, or sale of oil, condensates, gas, liquefied natural gas, or other petrochemical products in whole or in part from Iran. The President must also impose sanctions on certain foreign persons associated with a sanctioned individual or entity. For example, the President must sanction the subsidiaries and corporate officers of a sanctioned business. The bill provides certain exceptions to these sanctions, including specifying that sanctions do not apply to the importation of goods or to conducting or facilitating transactions for humanitarian assistance. The Department of State must establish an interagency working group that shall seek to establish a multilateral contact group to coordinate international efforts to enforce sanctions on Iran. The bill expands the State Department rewards program to authorize a reward payment to any individual who furnishes information leading to the identification of a person (1) subject to sanctions under this bill, or (2) that has attempted or is attempting to evade sanctions under this bill.
Maddy summaryThis resolution (HRES 1095) sets procedural rules for debating H.R. 7744, the bill funding the Department of Homeland Security for fiscal year 2026. It waives all objections to considering the bill and its provisions, requires the bill to be treated as "read," and limits debate to one hour equally divided between the Appropriations Committee chair and ranking member. It also allows one motion to send the bill back to committee for revisions. This resolution does not change the funding levels or policies in H.R. 7744, only the process for debating it.
Maddy summaryHR 7678, the Gun Owner Registration Information Protection Act, prohibits federal funding for state or local databases that track lawfully owned firearms or their owners. The bill allows federal funding for databases recording lost or stolen firearms but bans it for databases listing legal gun ownership. This means states cannot use federal money to create or maintain systems that compile information about legally owned guns. The bill directly affects state and local governments that rely on federal funds for firearm ownership databases.
Maddy summaryThis bill directs U.S. agencies to support Iranian people's access to uncensored information and hold Iranian officials accountable for human rights abuses. It requires the State Department and FCC to report on technologies (like satellite networks and mesh systems) that could bypass internet restrictions in Iran, and authorizes $2 million annually to develop such tools. The bill also establishes a new "Iran Kleptocracy Initiative" at FinCEN to track corruption, freeze assets of Iranian regime officials and state-owned businesses, and coordinate with international partners. These measures apply to U.S. policy toward Iran but do not alter Iran's domestic laws; they focus on U.S. sanctions, technology development, and anti-corruption efforts targeting the Iranian regime.
Maddy summaryThis bill establishes the United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative to accelerate joint development and integration of defense technologies between the two countries. It directs the U.S. Secretary of Defense, with Israel’s agreement, to identify Israeli-origin technologies for rapid adoption into U.S. military systems, focusing on areas like counter-drone systems, missile defense (including "Golden Dome for America"), AI, cyber defense, and directed energy. The initiative requires annual congressional reporting on progress, partnerships with industry, and technology transitions, while authorizing $150 million annually for fiscal years 2027-2029. It aims to strengthen bilateral defense innovation and streamline the use of Israeli technologies within U.S. military programs.
Maddy summaryThis bill authorizes the U.S. Mint to produce two types of commemorative $2.50 coins for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence: a circulating coin for everyday use and a numismatic (collector) coin. Both would feature designs based on the 1926 Sesquicentennial coin - showing allegorical liberty holding the Declaration on one side and Independence Hall on the other - with "1776-2026" inscriptions. The bill requires the Mint to issue these coins by July 4, 2026, if technically and economically feasible, but does not mandate their production or affect any specific groups beyond the public who may purchase them.
