LOCAL GOVERNMENT-TECH
Maddy summaryHB 1182 is a technical amendment to the Illinois Municipal Code concerning veteran's and educational preference provisions. It makes a non-substantive change to an existing section of the code, without altering eligibility criteria or benefits. The bill directly affects local government hiring processes in Illinois that use these preference systems. Since it's a technical correction (not a policy change), it has no new implementation mechanisms or direct impact on residents or agencies beyond updating existing code language. The bill is currently in committee referral.
