HR 1463: To prohibit the use of Federal funds to implement, administer, or enforce a final rule of the Food and Drug Administration relating to "Medical Devices; Laboratory Developed Tests", and for other purposes.

HR 1463 prohibits the use of federal funds to implement, administer, or enforce a specific FDA rule about medical devices known as "laboratory developed tests" (LDTs), published in the Federal Register on May 6, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 37286). The bill directly affects the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), preventing it from using taxpayer money to carry out this regulation. Its key mechanism is a straightforward funding ban on the specified rule and any substantially similar future rule. This is a procedural restriction focused solely on blocking financial support for the FDA's LDT regulatory approach.

S 648: SCRUB Act of 2025

The SCRUB Act of 2025 requires federal agencies to offset the annual costs of new regulations by repealing existing rules that meet specific criteria, such as those costing over $100 million annually (adjusted for inflation). It directs the new DOGE agency to identify and repeal outdated or overly burdensome rules, prioritizing those that impose high costs on small businesses or lack clear regulatory purpose. Agencies must achieve a 33% reduction in cumulative regulatory costs by July 2026 while maintaining regulatory effectiveness. This directly affects all federal agencies creating regulations and indirectly impacts businesses, consumers, and industries subject to those regulations.

S 651: Unplug the Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Programs Act

This bill repeals two federal programs that provided funding for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. It eliminates the grant program for charging/fueling stations under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and terminates the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program. The bill specifically removes authorization for new grants, cancels unspent funds, and prohibits future use of federal money for these programs. As a result, the federal government will no longer fund or support the development of EV charging networks through these specific mechanisms.

S 641: Safe and Affordable Drugs from Canada Act of 2025

This bill, S 641 (Safe and Affordable Drugs from Canada Act of 2025), would allow U.S. individuals to import certain prescription drugs from Canada under specific conditions. It requires drugs to come from FDA-certified Canadian pharmacies, match U.S.-approved drugs in active ingredients and form, be for personal use (not resale) in 90-day quantities, and include a U.S. physician's prescription. The bill excludes controlled substances, biologics, infused drugs, and other high-risk medications. It directly affects U.S. patients seeking lower-cost prescriptions who meet these criteria. The FDA would establish the certification process for Canadian pharmacies within 180 days of enactment.

HR 1438: Protecting America’s Agricultural Land from Foreign Harm Act of 2025

HR 1438, the *Protecting America’s Agricultural Land from Foreign Harm Act of 2025*, prohibits foreign governments of Iran, North Korea, China, and Russia (and entities they control) from purchasing or leasing U.S. agricultural land, including both public land managed by federal agencies and private land. It also bans such entities from participating in most U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs if they own or lease agricultural land, with limited exceptions for food safety and health programs. The bill expands disclosure requirements under the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act to include leases and security interests, and mandates public data sets showing foreign ownership details and land values. HR 1410: 9/11 Responder and Survivor Health Funding Correction Act of 2025

HR 1410 expands access to mental health care for 9/11 responders and survivors by allowing licensed mental health providers (not just physicians) to conduct initial health evaluations and certifications under the World Trade Center Health Program. It adjusts the program’s funding formula to account for changing enrollment numbers by linking annual funding to the previous year’s enrollment ratio, and clarifies that deceased individuals are excluded from enrollment counts. The bill also extends the timeframe for adding new health conditions to the program’s list and requires a 2028 report assessing long-term funding needs through 2090. These changes aim to streamline eligibility, improve care access, and ensure sustainable funding for the program.

HR 1363: Honor and Remember Flag Recognition Act

HR 1363 designates the "Honor and Remember Flag" (created by Honor and Remember, Inc.) as the official symbol honoring U.S. military members who died in service. It requires federal locations - including the Capitol, White House, military memorials, VA medical centers, and all post offices - to display this flag on specific days like Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Flag Day. The bill mandates visible public display at these locations and sets deadlines for implementing the requirement (180 days for regulations, 30 days for flag procurement). It does not alter military benefits or create new programs, focusing solely on symbolic recognition through flag display.

HR 1394: CURD Act

This bill defines "natural cheese" in federal law to clarify labeling standards for consumers. It specifies that natural cheese must be made primarily from coagulated milk proteins through traditional methods, while explicitly excluding processed cheeses like American cheese, cheese spreads, and pasteurized blends. The law requires products labeled as "natural cheese" to meet this definition, ensuring consistent labeling nationwide and preventing misleading claims. It directly affects cheese manufacturers, retailers, and consumers by standardizing what can be marketed as natural cheese. The bill aims to increase transparency without changing existing food safety regulations.

HR 349: Goldie’s Act

Goldie's Act This bill expands enforcement provisions under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). Specifically, the bill directs the Department of Agriculture (USDA) to document and record detailed descriptions of violations of the act observed during inspections and investigations. USDA must provide a copy of all records documenting violations to state, local, and municipal animal control or law enforcement officials within 24 hours of such inspections or investigations. Inspections must be held at least once a year of each research facility, the premises of each animal dealer, and each exhibitor of animals. If violations are found during inspections, then USDA must conduct any necessary follow-up inspections until all the violations are corrected. Inspectors must confiscate or destroy in a humane manner animals found to be suffering physical or psychological harm as a result of failure to comply with the AWA. Violators are subject to civil penalties as outlined in the bill.
