Provides that the owner of a self-storage facility may tow or remove a motor vehicle, trailer, or watercraft if the renter is in default for at least 60 days. Specifies that a rental agreement is considered accepted if a person does not return the signed rental agreement but continues to use the storage space for at least 30 days. Provides that an owner of a self-service storage facility may terminate or choose not to renew a contract with a renter if certain conditions are met. Allows an owner of a self-service storage facility to dispose of a former renter's personal property not less than 30 days after terminating the rental agreement. Provides that a rental agreement may be delivered and executed electronically.
Amends the economic development for a growing economy (EDGE) tax credit to: (1) authorize the Indiana economic development corporation (IEDC) to increase the value of an EDGE credit to a company for new job creation based on the amount of expenses of the company to relocate an individual to Indiana to fill the position; and (2) explicitly permit the IEDC to provide EDGE credits to a company that is retaining an employee through a minimum of a 25% increase in hourly wages paid to the individual. Clarifies provisions that apply to IEDC certification of a fund as a qualified Indiana investment fund.
Authorizes the city of New Haven to impose an innkeeper's tax at a flat rate that does not exceed $5 per night. Amends provisions regarding distribution and uses of the Hamilton County innkeeper's tax. Makes corresponding changes to statutes concerning innkeeper's tax administration.
Requires certain pharmacists or pharmacies to provide the amount of the national average drug acquisition cost for a generic drug on the written materials provided to an individual at the point of sale of the generic drug.
Provides an income tax deduction for theft losses that result from certain financial transactions induced by third parties and that cause the individual to incur federal gross income as a result of the theft. Requires the department of state revenue to first certify the theft loss deduction before a taxpayer may claim the deduction in a taxable year.
Adopts the compact for a safe and equal convention of the states. Specifies compact requirements. Provides that each state that adopts the compact intends to ensure that the following rules are followed at a convention under Article V of the Constitution of the United States: (1) All voting is conducted on the basis of one-state, one-vote. (2) The convention shall not consider any proposed amendment on any topic other than the topics or subjects specifically enumerated in the applications of 2/3 of the several states which formed the basis for the call of the convention.
Provides that the Indiana department of transportation or a zoning authority may not apply zoning standards or require a permit to relocate certain outdoor advertising signs. Provides that an existing outdoor advertising sign located within the boundaries of an excluded city may not be relocated outside the excluded city unless the county or municipality to which the outdoor advertising sign will be relocated approves of the relocation. Allows a zoning authority to permit or inspect a relocated outdoor advertising sign if the purpose is to ensure compliance with certain safety standards.
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Columbus North High School Cross Country teams for outstanding academic and athletic performances in the 2025 cross country season.
Requires school corporations and charter schools (schools) to include in the school's technology plan a description of the school's plan to: (1) ensure the appropriate use of technological devices in schools; and (2) enable parents of students to exercise control over a student's technological devices while the student is not in school or engaged in virtual instruction or remote learning. Not later than January 1, 2027, requires a school to include in the school's Internet use policy a provision that enables the parent of a student to increase the strength of certain filters, block access to websites or content, and limit the use of certain devices. Creates an exemption from the Internet use policy requirement. Requires a school to include in the school's wireless communication device policy a provision that prohibits a student from using school supplied technological devices for a noneducational purpose during instructional time.
Allows a person who wishes to be a candidate for a pro tempore appointment to certain local offices or school board offices to file a declaration of candidacy with the chair of the caucus or the circuit court clerk. Requires a circuit court clerk to send a copy of a declaration of candidacy filed with the clerk to the chairman of the caucus on the same day the declaration of candidacy is received. Allows a notice of a caucus meeting to be rescinded if only one candidate seeks to fill a vacancy in a local office or a school board office held by a major party.
