SB 2779: RELATING TO THE HAWAII TEACHER STANDARDS BOARD.

Increases membership on the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board to include the Chairperson of the Native Hawaiian Education Council and a non-voting teacher candidate from a Hawaii educator preparation program at a public university. HB 1805: RELATING TO ENERGY TRAINING.

SB 2659: RELATING TO MEDICAL CANNABIS PRODUCTS.

Updates transdermal patches to transdermal devices in section 329D-10, Hawaii Revised Statutes, thereby including non-patch devices that deliver through the dermis. Adds cannabinoid suppositories to the list of cannabis products that may be manufactured and distributed by dispensaries. (SB2659 HD1)

SB 2320: RELATING TO AN UNDERGRADUATE HEALTH SCIENCES ACADEMY.

Establishes an undergraduate health sciences academy to be administered by the University of Hawaii-West Oahu and John A. Burns School of Medicine to increase recruitment and retention of Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and first generation college students. Requires the University of Hawaii-West Oahu to submit a report to the legislature regarding educational outcomes. Appropriates funds. (SB2320 HD1)

SB 2559: RELATING TO INVASIVE SPECIES.

Requires the Invasive Species Council to maintain a list of high-risk priority invasive species and diseases. Authorizes the Board of Land and Natural Resources to include species on the list without adopting rules under chapter 91 when the Board deems it a response to an emergency. Authorizes entry onto private property to control and eradicate priority invasive species and newly-appearing species based on reasonable suspicion of the presence of the species. (SB2559 HD1)

SB 2602: RELATING TO PROCUREMENT.

Requires the State Procurement Policy Board to conduct annual compliance examinations of procurement contracts that are over $50,000 of an unspecified minimum number of executive departments, divisions, or agencies. Requires the State Procurement Policy Board to also select any department, division, or agency for a compliance examination to ensure compliance with the State Procurement Code. Requires the State Procurement Office to report its findings to the legislature. (SB2602 HD1)
