SB 787: RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL REAL PROPERTY.

Restricts management fees to an amount that reflects a reasonable value for services rendered. Requires that condominium property managers, associations of apartment owners, and planned community associations make association documents available to owners under reasonable terms, including through a property management company's or association's website, if one exists, and for reasonable costs.

SB 568: RELATING TO BAIL.

Requires that a defendant be denied bail when the charge is for a violent crime or the defendant has been previously convicted of a violent crime. Distinguishes between a serious crime for which the judge has the discretion to grant bail and a violent crime for which bail must be denied.

SB 408: RELATING TO FAMILY LEAVE.

Establishes a family leave insurance program, which requires employees to make contributions into a trust fund that can be used to provide employees with family leave insurance benefits to care for a designated person. Expands the number of weeks of family leave from four to twelve weeks under the family leave law. Appropriates funds to the department of labor and industrial relations to implement the family leave insurance program. Requires a study to be performed by the department of labor and industrial relations and an actuarial study to be performed by the department of budget and finance.

SB 813: RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

Prohibits campaign contributions from certain entities to members of the legislature during the legislative session, for five days following adjournment sine die, and during a special session. Prohibits a member of the legislature from knowingly soliciting or accepting a contribution from a lobbyist or a lobbyist's principal during a legislative session, for five days following adjournment sine die, and during a special session. Prohibits fundraisers for any member of the legislature to be held during any regular legislative session, for five calendar days after adjournment sine die, and during a special session. Takes effect on 1/1/2018.

SB 573: RELATING TO GRAFFITI.

Establishes and funds an anti-graffiti program coordinator position under the office of the lieutenant governor and funds an anti-graffiti program for the use of cameras and high resolution photos to detect taggers on state property. Repeals on July 1, 2020.

SB 625: RELATING TO FRANCHISES.

Establishes an unfair or deceptive act or practice or an unfair method of competition for a franchisor or subfranchisor to restrain a franchisee from sourcing processing services for transaction authorization cards from processing service providers of a franchisee's choosing. Allows a franchisor to establish reasonable written standards regarding the nature and quality of the processing service providers. Prohibits rescission as an available remedy for a franchisor or subfranchisor restraining a franchisee from sourcing processing services for transaction authorization cards from processing service providers of the franchisee's choosing.

HB 181: RELATING TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION.

Clarifies that the AG shall not represent the legislature and individual legislators acting in their official capacity. Requires the respective house to provide legal representation for any member who is sued in the member's official capacity unless the member declines such representation.
