HB 607: RELATING TO CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION.

Amends the Private Trade, Vocational, and Technical School Special Fund within the Department of Education to fund vocational, technical and career pathway classes for public school students and to cover student costs associated with career and technical education classes. Allows individuals to teach vocational, technical or career pathway classes without a bachelor's degree.

SB 848: RELATING TO WORKS OF ART SPECIAL FUND.

Specifies that 0.5 per cent, rather than one per cent, of state fund appropriations for capital improvements shall be transferred into the works of art special fund. Limits the 0.5 per cent amount to appropriations designated for the construction of new state buildings, properties, or facilities.

SB 1015: RELATING TO SAFE AND EFFECTIVE DISCIPLINE.

Repeals the justification of use of force by parents, guardians, teachers, and persons otherwise entrusted with the care or supervision of a minor on 1/1/2023. Appropriates funds for the department of health, in collaboration with the department of human services and department of education, to develop and implement an educational program to inform parents on safe and effective discipline methods as alternatives to corporal punishment.

HB 643: RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Appropriates funds to the outreach program, rapid re-housing program, housing first program, family assessment centers, law enforcement assisted diversion program, and coordinated statewide homelessness initiative. Establishes and appropriates funds for a short-term rental assistance pilot program and a long-term rental assistance pilot program.

SB 562: RELATING TO NOTARIES PUBLIC.

Authorizes notaries public to perform notarial acts utilizing electronic documents with electronic signatures, without the notary public and the individual requesting the notary services being in the same physical location; provided that certain conditions are met.

HB 617: RELATING TO ANIMALS.

Codifies provisions of Board of Agriculture rules that prohibit the importation of dangerous wild animals into the State except for research, medical, or scientific purposes as determined by the board; for exhibition in government zoos or government-affiliated aquariums; or for commercial filming.

SB 418: RELATING TO PRIVACY.

Requires a business to: disclose the categories and specific pieces of identifying information collected about a consumer upon verifiable request from the consumer; disclose the identity of third parties to which the business has sold or transferred identifying information about a consumer upon verifiable request from the consumer; publicly disclose the categories of identifying information that collected from consumers and the purposes for collection; and delete identifying information collected from a consumer upon verifiable request from the consumer. Authorizes consumers to opt out of the sale of identifying information by a business. Prohibits a business from selling the identifying information of an individual under sixteen years of age unless affirmatively authorized to do so. Prohibits a business from discriminating against consumers who exercise their rights to request disclosures or deletions or to opt out.

SB 619: RELATING TO TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS.

Prohibits the parking of vehicles in front of a mailbox facing a state highway to which the United States Postal Service delivers mail from Monday through Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in any county with a population of 500,000 or more.
