Amends Act 53, SLH 2012, and removes the restriction that prohibits counties from requiring the installation of residential fire sprinklers.

SB 372: RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Requires the Governor; Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism; and the Hawaii State Energy Office to develop a strategic plan that outlines benchmarks to achieve one hundred per cent renewable energy portfolio standard. Requires DBEDT to submit the strategic plan to the legislature.

SB 614: RELATING TO ZONING.

Allows counties to enact a zoning ordinance to amortize or phase out nonconforming single-family transient vacation rental units over a reasonable period of time.

SB 476: RELATING TO MINIMUM WAGE.

Increases the minimum wage annually starting January 1, 2020. Beginning September 30, 2024, and thereafter, requires the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to calculate an adjusted minimum wage rate to the nearest five cents using the Honolulu Region Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers, subject to certain conditions. Repeals the tip credit.

HB 685: RELATING TO GROUP LIVING FACILITIES.

Specifies that until the department of health establishes the clean and sober homes registry, group living facility operators shall be permitted to operate upon providing notice of operation to the applicable county.

SB 903: RELATING TO POSTGRADUATE RESIDENT PHYSICIANS AND FELLOWS.

Provides immunity from liability for postgraduate resident physicians and fellows for medical malpractice claims arising from injury that occurs as a result of care that is provided while the resident physician or fellow is participating in an accredited training program under the supervision of a licensed faculty or volunteer physician.

SB 951: RELATING TO OCEANFRONT PROPERTY TRANSACTIONS.

Requires a purchaser or transferee to execute an oceanfront purchaser statement with every sale or transfer of oceanfront real estate. Requires the statement to be recorded with the bureau of conveyances. Establishes mandatory provisions for every oceanfront purchaser statement.
