SB 1227: RELATING TO FORECLOSURES.

Makes permanent the affirmation requirement and form that is filed by an attorney on behalf of a mortgagee who is seeking to foreclose on a residential property under a judicial foreclosure action. Repeals the affirmation requirement of an attorney who files a complaint in a mortgage foreclosure action that would have been effective on 07/01/2017. (CD1)

SB 1171: RELATING TO THE HEALTH CARE PRIVACY HARMONIZATION ACT.

Identifies certain circumstances under which the State has a compelling interest in the disclosure, use, and production of de-identified protected health information under the Health Care Privacy Harmonization Act; provided that the information has been de-identified pursuant to title 45 Code of Federal Regulations part 164. HB 301: RELATING TO RESPONSE TO WRIT FOR CERTIORARI.

Requires the clerk of the court to grant a single extension of not more than fifteen days to file with the Supreme Court a response to an application for writ of certiorari upon a party's timely written request. (HB301 CD1)

HB 1115: RELATING TO THE HAWAII LABOR RELATIONS BOARD.

Allows the Hawaii Labor Relations Board to send notices of hearing electronically; requires the party seeking judicial review to bear the cost of preparing a transcript, except as provided by law, in which case the Board shall bear the cost of preparing the transcript. (HB1115 CD1)

HB 607: RELATING TO KUPUNA CARE.

Authorizes the Executive Office on Aging to establish the Kupuna Caregivers Program to assist community members in obtaining care for elders while remaining in the workforce. Clarifies the kupuna service and support options provided by area agencies on aging within the program. Appropriates funds for establishing and implementing the Kupuna Caregivers Program. (HB607 CD1)

HB 832: RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Specifies that condominium boards may be in violation of fiduciary duty for violating the mediation and arbitration requirements of the condominium law. Allows association member participation in board meetings pursuant to rules established therefor. Requires board meeting notices to list items on the meeting agenda. Requires unapproved final drafts of meeting minutes to be available within 30 days after the meeting. (HB832 CD1)
