SB 897: RELATING TO CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECKS.

Adds the child support enforcement agency, the departments of taxation, human services, and labor and industrial relations, and the counties, to the list of entities that are authorized to conduct criminal history record checks on employees, prospective employees, and contractors, if applicable, who have access to federal tax information. Takes effect on 1/7/2059. (SD2)

SB 1271: PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE II, SECTION 1, OF THE HAWAII STATE CONSTITUTION TO CHANGE THE AGE QUALIFICATION FOR VOTING IN STATE OR LOCAL ELECTIONS.

Proposes a constitutional amendment to allow individuals who are seventeen years of age but will be eighteen years of age on or before the next state or local general election to vote at the state or local primary election immediately preceding the state or local general election by which the citizen will attain the age of eighteen.

SB 990: RELATING TO FOREST STEWARDSHIP.

SB 629: RELATING TO THE LAND USE COMMISSION.

Provides the Land Use Commission with the power to amend, revise, or modify a decision and order granting a district boundary amendment, or fine a petitioner, when there has been a finding by the Land Use Commission that a petitioner or its successors or assigns have not adhered to the conditions imposed by the commission, regardless of whether there has been substantial commencement of use of the land. Defines "substantial commencement". Effective March 15, 2094. (SD1)

SB 440: RELATING TO VIOLATIONS OF CAMPAIGN FINANCE LAW.

Increases the amounts of fines that may be assessed against a noncandidate committee making only independent expenditures for campaign spending violations. Allows the Campaign Spending Commission to recover its costs from violators. Directs moneys collected for costs to be deposited in the Hawaii Election Campaign Fund. (SD1)

SB 327: RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

Authorizes the electronic transmission of databases containing driver's license and civil identification card information to election officials and the statewide voter registration system. Requires the Office of Elections to join the Electronic Registration Information Center and share information with counties to encourage voter participation and ensure integrity of voter registration rolls. Appropriates funds. Takes effect on 01/07/2059. (SD1)
