HB 669: RELATING TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Streamlines the reporting requirements of the Department of Human Services (DHS)and the family courts to require DHS, upon direction of the court, to provide the family court with an oral or written report regarding the safety of a minor child of the parties on or prior to the next regularly scheduled court hearing. Provides that if DHS provides a written report, the DHS need not appear at the hearing unless ordered to do so. Requires the court to provide copies of all written reports to the parties. (HB669 HD1)

SB 975: RELATING TO PARKING FOR DISABLED PERSONS.

Establishes a misdemeanor offense for unauthorized sale or purchase of a disability parking permit. Clarifies law enforcement authority to confiscate altered, invalid, or unauthorized disability parking permits. (SB975 HD1)

HB 199: RELATING TO ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES.

SB 534: RELATING TO KUPUNA CARE.

Requires the executive office on aging to establish the kupuna caregivers program, subject to available funds, to assist community members in obtaining care for elders while remaining in the workforce. Makes establishment of the kupuna care program mandatory, subject to available funds. Clarifies the kupuna service and support options provided by area agencies on aging within the kupuna care program. Appropriates funds for establishing and implementing the kupuna caregivers program. SB 887: RELATING TO ENHANCED 911 SERVICES.

Establishes a prepaid wireless E911 surcharge of 1.5 per cent of prepaid wireless service purchased at the point of sale. Allows sellers to deduct and retain 3 per cent of the surcharges collected to offset administrative expenses, but requires sellers to remit the balance of surcharges collected to the Enhanced 911 Fund on a specified periodic basis.
