Fire Investigator Cancer Treatment Benefits; Revises definition of term "firefighter" to include full-time, Florida-certified fire investigators for purpose of expanding eligibility for certain cancer treatment benefits to include such investigators; provides declaration of important state interest.
Dentistry and Dental Hygiene Examinations; Requires use of a manikin rather than live patient during a licensure examination of dentist or dental hygienist in lieu of live patient; removes provision that required medical malpractice insurance for applicants for examination.
Educator Certification Pathways for Veterans; Authorizes DOE to issue temporary certificate to specified military servicemembers who meet certain criteria; requires teacher mentorship for specified military servicemembers who hold temporary certificate; specifies duration & issuance of temporary certificate for specified military servicemembers.
Vessel Anchoring; Provides tenancy conditions for certain moorings & mooring fields in Monroe County; provides relocation & reanchoring requirements for vessels anchored on waters of state within Monroe County; directs FWCC, in consultation with certain entities, to establish designated anchoring areas throughout Monroe County; removes provisions requiring Monroe County to approve certain moorings; requires certain vessels equipped with marine sanitation devices to maintain pumpout records.
Lifeline Services; Revises provisions concerning Lifeline services; removes provisions that specify circumstances under which telecommunications carrier must credit consumer's bill with Lifeline Assistance credit; removes DOE & Office of Public Counsel from entities with whom state agencies must cooperate in developing procedures to promote Lifeline participation; provides certain information is exempt as well as confidential; authorizes certain confidential & exempt information to be released to Federal Communications Commission.
Limitations on Political Contributions; Defining the term “foreign national”; providing that a foreign national may not make or offer to make certain contributions or expenditures, etc.
Charter School Charters; Requiring a request for a consolidation of multiple charters to be approved or denied within a specified timeframe; requiring a charter school sponsor to provide to the charter school specified information relating to a denial of a request for a consolidation within a certain timeframe; providing for the automatic renewal of a charter under certain circumstances, etc.
School Safety; Extending the sunset date of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission; requiring the FortifyFL reporting tool to notify reporting parties that submitting false information may subject them to criminal penalties; requiring the Commissioner of Education to oversee and enforce compliance with requirements relating to school safety and security; requiring certain law enforcement officers to be physically present and directly involved in active assailant emergency drills, etc.
Traveling Across County Lines to Commit a Burglary; Deleting a requirement that travel across county lines be for a specified purpose in order to reclassify a burglary offense, etc.
Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Educational Requirements; Authorizes head of employing agency, beginning on specified date, to elect to substitute certain work experience for postsecondary educational requirements; prohibits substitution of certain work experience for postsecondary educational requirements; provides advertising requirements relating to positions of employment; specifies that certain laws & regulations governing equal opportunity employment apply.
Controlled Substances; Revising the elements that constitute the capital offense of murder in the first degree; revising the elements that constitute the felony offense of murder in the third degree; prohibiting specified activities involving controlled substances within 1,000 feet of additional specified facilities; providing criminal penalties, etc.
United States Armed Forces; Revises definitions to include U.S. Space Force; revises officers authorized to take or administer oaths; revises military branches for which official called to active service may receive leave of absence; updates military base names; exempts post exchanges operated by U.S. Space Force from paying certain tax; revises uniforms protected from imitation to include U.S. Space Force uniforms; prohibits soliciting or persuading another not to enlist with U.S. Space Force; authorizes condominium owners & homeowners to display U.S. Space Force flag; authorizes U.S. Space Force members to own, possess, & use firearms & other weapons during certain periods.
