Hispanic Educational Resources and Empowerment Act of 2022 This bill directs the Department of Education to (1) award grants to Hispanic-serving institutions of higher education (IHEs) to improve and expand innovative collaboration agreements between local educational agencies and IHEs to better serve Hispanic and Latino students, (2) provide technical assistance to such IHEs, and (3) contract with a third party to conduct an independent evaluation of grant activities. Such grants must be used for specific activities, such as improving school-based and institutional practices to prepare students for postsecondary education and addressing nonacademic needs of students that are barriers to college enrollment.
Protection from Abusive Passengers Act This bill addresses the banning of abusive passengers from commercial aircraft flights. Abusive passenger is defined as any individual who engages in behavior that results in a civil penalty or conviction for assaulting, threatening, or intimidating a crew member or passenger on an aircraft flight, or who takes any action to interfere with security screening personnel or any security system related to civil aviation security. It requires the Federal Aviation Administration or the Attorney General to provide the identity, including the full name and date of birth, and gender of all abusive passengers to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The TSA must maintain a list of abusive passengers and develop and make publicly available policies and procedures for handling individuals included on the list. Any individual on the list shall be prohibited from boarding any commercial aircraft flight until the individual is removed from such list. Additionally, all abusive passengers shall be permanently ineligible to participate in the TSA PreCheck or the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Global Entry programs, with specified exceptions.

Reducing Helicopter Noise in the District of Columbia Act This bill requires helicopters and other rotorcraft in the District of Columbia to fly at the maximum altitude permitted by the Federal Aviation Administration unless an exception applies. The exceptions specified in the bill allow for lower altitude flights if necessary to ensure aviation safety, transport the President or Vice President, protect patients in medical-related flights, take off or land, or engage in active law enforcement or rescue operations.
Federal Contracting for Peace and Security Act This bill requires executive agencies to terminate their contracts with companies conducting business operations in Russia. This requirement ends when Russia takes steps to restore the safety, sovereignty, and condition of Ukraine. The bill shall not apply to the procurement of products or services for (1) the benefit, either directly or through the efforts of regional allies, of Ukraine; or (2) humanitarian purposes to meet basic human needs. The bill provides for a waiver where in the national interest of the United States.
Kenneth P. Thompson Begin Again Act This bill expands eligibility for the expungement of records related to a first-time drug possession offense. Current law permits expungement for offenders who commit the offense before age 21. This bill permits expungement for offenders who commit the offense at any age.
Increase Federal Disaster Cost Share Act of 2021 This bill increases the federal cost share from 75% to 90% for any emergency or major disaster declared by the President beginning on January 1, 2020, and ending on December 31, 2020.
Measuring Real Income Growth Act of 2021 This bill requires the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the Department of Commerce to include in each of its gross domestic product analyses a recent estimate of the total amount added to the U.S. economy during the period covered by the recent estimate. The estimate must also disaggregate this amount by each of the 10 deciles of income and the highest 1% of income.
Educators Expense Deduction Modernization Act of 2022 This bill increases the tax deduction for the expenses of eligible educators from $250 to $1,000, An eligible educator is, with respect to any taxable year, an individual who is a kindergarten through grade 12 teacher, instructor, counselor, principal, or aide in a school for at least 900 hours during a school year.
This bill authorizes the U.S. Capitol Police to issue permits allowing certain commercial filmmaking and photography activities on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.
Service Academies District of Columbia Equality Act This bill increases from 5 to 15 the number of individuals from the District of Columbia who may be appointed to the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy.
