Firefighters Cancer Screening Grant Program and Fund; established.

The program's beneficiary scope was changed from 'firefighters and emergency medical services personnel' to only 'firefighters'.

New definitions were added for 'Department' (Department of Fire Programs), 'Eligible screening test' (ultrasound or multi-cancer detection test), and 'Firefighter' (referencing § 9.1-300).

New requirements were added for the Department to establish grant award guidelines, application processes, and data collection efforts including screening results, employment history, demographics, and other prescribed elements.

The expenditure authority was modified from requiring the request to be signed by the Executive Director of the Department of Fire Programs to simply the Executive Director of the Department.

A specific grant amount limit was established at $350 per eligible screening test for localities receiving grants from the Fund.

An expiration clause was added stating the section shall expire on July 1 of the fiscal year if the Fund is not funded by a separate appropriation in the appropriation act.
