MINOR
The bill was amended to clarify the scope of prohibited bribery by removing the phrase 'or not' from the list of actions influencing voter registration, ensuring the law covers both registering and refusing to register. Additionally, the bill was updated to include bracketed text indicating that the House of Delegates added an option to exempt paying wages for voter registration drives, though this specific exemption remains pending final approval.
Scope change
The scope of the bribery prohibition was slightly narrowed in its wording but broadened in potential application by removing the specific exclusion of refusing to register, while a potential new exemption for wage payments was added to the list of non-prohibited activities.
REQUIREMENT

Removed the phrase 'or not' from the definition of bribery regarding voter registration, changing the prohibition to cover influencing a decision to register or not register without the specific exclusion language.

ELIGIBILITY

Added bracketed text to the list of exemptions, suggesting a new exception for paying a person a wage to conduct a voter registration drive, pending House approval.

TECHNICAL
