Section 24.2-514 was removed, eliminating restrictions on using direct primaries for non-presidential candidates.

Section 24.2-506 was modified to clarify that petition signatures for presidential election year candidates must be collected after dates prescribed by the State Board under § 24.2-544.

Section 24.2-506 was modified to remove language requiring nonresident petition circulators to sign jurisdiction consent statements, and to remove consequences for failing to appear when subpoenaed.

New section 24.2-947.6:1 establishes specific campaign finance report filing deadlines for candidates in presidential election years, including earlier April 15 reporting for the period through March 15.

Section 24.2-507 and 24.2-510 were modified to correct numbering errors and clarify special election filing deadlines.
