Summary
Protective order in case of family abuse; terminationof temporary order of child support. Provides that when a courtincludes a temporary child support order with the issuance of a protectiveorder in the case of family abuse, such temporary child support ordershall terminate when a court determines child support in a subsequentproceeding or when the protective order expires, whichever occursfirst. Current law requires that such temporary child support orderterminate only after a court determines child support in a subsequentproceeding. This bill is a recommendation of the Judicial Councilof Virginia and the Committee on District Courts.
