GRACIE Act of 2025

The GRACIE Act of 2025 provides federal grants to state child protective services agencies that already require recording all interviews about child abuse, neglect, or exposure to violence. These grants cover the costs of recording and securely storing such interviews for at least five years, including initial family assessments. The bill mandates strict management protocols, requiring agencies to limit access to recordings to investigators or caregivers in court cases (unless a judge blocks it) and to implement secure storage systems with access controls. It does not create new recording requirements but funds existing state programs meeting these defined standards.
