American Glove Act of 2026

The American Glove Act of 2026 requires federal agencies to ensure that nitrile gloves procured through the AbilityOne Program are manufactured exclusively in the United States by companies that are majority-owned by U.S. persons and free from foreign control. To achieve this, the law mandates that these agencies enter into binding supplier agreements lasting at least two years with domestic manufacturers, which must include minimum purchase commitments to support production planning. The bill also establishes strict rules preventing agencies from using intermediaries or distributors to bypass these domestic sourcing and ownership requirements, while allowing existing contracts to be modified to comply rather than terminated.
