S 4626 United States Senate · 119th Congress

PERFECT Act of 2026

The PERFECT Act of 2026 establishes a regularly updated list of prohibited dietary supplement ingredients and performance-enhancing substances that members of the Armed Forces cannot use. To help service members avoid accidental violations, the bill requires the Department of Defense to publish this list in an easily searchable online format and to update its training programs on supplement safety. Under the new rules, commanders have the option to waive disciplinary action or administrative separation for a first-time offense if the soldier lacked knowledge of the prohibited ingredient and agrees to participate in education or drug testing instead. Additionally, the legislation mandates that possessing these specific supplements will not be classified as drug abuse, provided the substance is not a controlled substance under federal law.
