Knife Owners’ Protection Act of 2025

This bill allows law-abiding knife owners to transport knives across state lines between locations where they are legally permitted to possess them, with specific storage requirements. For car travel, knives must be inaccessible from the passenger area (e.g., locked in a container or glove compartment); for air travel, knives must be in a locked container not in the cabin; and for other transport, knives must be in a locked container. Emergency knives (like seatbelt cutters) may be kept accessible in vehicles but not in aircraft cabins. The bill explicitly does not change existing state laws about where knives can be possessed or carried, nor does it impose new restrictions on air travel with knives.
