Securing Our Propane Supply Act

S 2181, the "Securing Our Propane Supply Act," requires the Department of Energy to study whether a national strategic propane reserve should be created. The study must assess current propane supply chains, risks of regional disruptions, suitable storage locations and quantities, infrastructure needs, consumer impacts (including agricultural producers and military), and market effects. It will evaluate alternatives to a reserve and develop implementation recommendations. The Department must complete the study within 180 days of enactment and submit a report to Congress, including a potential implementation plan. This bill does not establish a reserve but mandates a feasibility assessment to inform future policy.
