Designating the Chinese Communist Party as a Transnational Organized Crime Group Act

This bill directs the U.S. Attorney General and FBI Director to officially label the Chinese Communist Party as a transnational organized crime group and a top international criminal organization. By making this designation, the law allows U.S. prosecutors to use existing anti-racketeering statutes against the party and removes time limits on prosecuting crimes committed by its members. Additionally, the legislation strips the party of legal protections that usually shield foreign governments from being sued or investigated in U.S. courts. These changes are intended to facilitate legal actions related to alleged human rights abuses, intellectual property theft, and other criminal activities attributed to the party.
