ATF Accountability Act of 2025

The ATF Accountability Act of 2025 establishes new procedures for gun manufacturers, importers, and dealers to challenge Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) rulings. It requires ATF to issue written rulings on product classification or regulatory questions within 90 days and allows licensees to appeal within 30 days to a Director of Industry Operations. If an appeal is requested, a hearing before an administrative law judge must occur within 90 days, with decisions binding and subject to judicial review. The bill delays the effective date of any challenged ruling until the appeal and review process concludes.
