Salem Maritime National Historical Park Redesignation and Boundary Study Act

This bill redesignates the Salem Maritime National Historic Site as Salem Maritime National Historical Park, updating its official name and all federal references to the location. It requires the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a boundary study within three years to evaluate adding nearby sites in Salem, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas related to maritime history, coastal defenses, and military history (including National Guard and militia activity). The study will assess the suitability and feasibility of expanding the park’s boundaries, with results reported to Congress - but the bill does not alter current boundaries or fund immediate expansion.
