Foster Youth and Driving Act

This bill requires foster care case plans to include driving preparation for youth aged 14 or older in foster care, covering practice driving, license assistance, and insurance. It creates a new federal program providing up to $4,000 annually per youth for driver’s education, license fees, insurance, vehicle costs, and transportation assistance. The program targets current foster youth and former foster youth up to age 26 who are in education or employment. States must coordinate with tribal organizations and report on program outcomes like license attainment and driver training completion.
