Healthy at Home on Base Act of 2024

The Healthy at Home on Base Act of 2024 requires the Department of Defense to study the health impacts of indoor mold in military housing, including unaccompanied housing and other residential areas on military installations, within three years of enactment. It mandates the development of model standards for preventing, detecting, and remediating mold, covering inspection protocols, remediation methods, ventilation systems, and building design to prevent mold growth. The bill also directs new construction standards for future military housing to address mold risks and requires training for military health professionals on mold-related illnesses. These standards must be published within three years of the study's completion and reviewed every five years to incorporate new scientific findings.
