S 4347 United States Senate · 118th Congress

Swanson and Hugh Butler Reservoirs Land Conveyances Act

This bill would transfer specific parcels of land around Swanson Reservoir and Hugh Butler Reservoir from the federal government to Nebraska counties. Hitchcock County would receive land designated as "Swanson Permitted Cabin Land," "Swanson Permitted Concession Land," and "Lakeview Lodge Permitted Concession Land," while Frontier County would receive "Red Willow Permitted Cabin Land" and "Red Willow Permitted Concession Land." Counties must pay fair market value determined by appraisals, demonstrate capability to manage the land, and agree to use it for recreation, public access, or preservation purposes. The bill maintains existing rights and easements while requiring environmental compliance before transfer.
