Equal Health Care for All Act

The Equal Health Care for All Act requires hospitals and health care providers to collect and report health outcome data disaggregated by race, gender, disability, and other demographic factors to identify and address disparities. It establishes an Office for Civil Rights and Health Equity within the Department of Health and Human Services to monitor implementation and enforce anti-discrimination standards. The bill creates mechanisms for patients to file complaints about inequitable care and for the government to investigate and address patterns of discrimination based on protected characteristics. It also provides grants to hospitals to implement bias training, cultural competency programs, and other initiatives to improve equitable care. The law aims to address systemic health care disparities that disproportionately affect communities of color and other marginalized groups.
