Firefighter PFAS Injury Compensation Act of 2024

This bill establishes the Firefighter PFAS Injury Compensation Program, providing financial compensation to firefighters (or their estates) who developed PFAS-related health conditions after serving at least two years. Compensation amounts range from $50,000 for non-cancer conditions to $250,000 for cancer, with additional increases based on years of service (up to a 4x multiplier for 10+ years). The program is funded through a new PFAS Trust Fund created by a 10% excise tax on PFAS manufacturers and a 10% tax on PFAS litigation awards. Claims must be submitted within two years of regulations being finalized, and the program operates as a no-fault system with no requirement to prove negligence.
