College Employment Accountability Act

This bill requires colleges and universities receiving federal student aid to comply with immigration laws regarding employee hiring. Specifically, it makes institutions ineligible for federal funding if they violate rules against employing unauthorized workers (Section 274A of the Immigration and Nationality Act) and mandates all such institutions to participate in the E-Verify program to check employee immigration status. The Department of Homeland Security must monitor compliance every six months and notify the Department of Education within 10 days if an institution violates immigration rules or fails to use E-Verify.
