S 3787 United States Senate · 118th Congress

Right Start Child Care and Education Act of 2024

S 3787, the Right Start Child Care and Education Act of 2024, increases tax incentives for employers providing child care and for child care workers. It raises the employer child care credit from 25% to 50% of expenses (and resource/referral costs from 10% to 20%), with a new $600,000 cap for small businesses. The bill also creates a new $4,000 annual tax credit for child care workers with early childhood degrees who work at licensed facilities, and $2,500 for others meeting specific service requirements. These changes apply to tax years beginning after December 31, 2024.
