MOMS Who Serve Act of 2024

The MOMS Who Serve Act of 2024 establishes a 5-year pilot program (2025-2029) to reduce perinatal mental health conditions among pregnant and postpartum military members (within one year of childbirth) and their dependents. It requires the Department of Defense to integrate evidence-based prevention programs into existing military healthcare services at diverse military treatment facilities, removing barriers like childcare access and rank differences to encourage participation. An advisory committee with military members, experts, and service organizations will guide implementation and address stigma, while mandatory annual reports track participation and outcomes by demographics. The program ends December 31, 2029, with a final report assessing its effectiveness and recommending whether to expand it.
