NOTICE Act

The NOTICE Act (S 3218) requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to notify state governors and local government leaders before transporting immigrants from within 100 miles of the U.S. border to another state or jurisdiction. This notification must include each immigrant’s name, country of origin, age, sex, criminal convictions, gang affiliations, and the security screenings they underwent. The law directly affects state and local officials who receive these pre-transport alerts, aiming to provide transparency about immigrant movements.
