Housing Transparency Improvement Act

This bill requires public housing agencies managing low-income housing or properties under the Rental Assistance Demonstration program to create free, accessible online portals for residents and applicants. Agencies must provide real-time tracking for service requests and complaints, plain-language rights information (available in multiple languages), and annual reports showing funding sources, inspection scores, and renovation plans. Small rural public housing agencies are exempt from the portal requirement but must submit alternative transparency methods to HUD. The law aims to improve accountability and tenant access to information about their housing properties.
