Moms Matter Act

The Moms Matter Act creates two federal grant programs to improve maternal mental health and address substance use disorders among pregnant and postpartum individuals. The first program allocates $25 million annually (2024-2027) to fund community organizations, health providers, and local governments to expand services in areas with high maternal mortality rates and health disparities. The second program provides $15 million annually (2024-2028) to support training initiatives that grow a diverse maternal mental health workforce, prioritizing recruitment from minority groups and underserved communities. Both programs require annual reporting to track outcomes and ensure services reach populations most affected by maternal health inequities.
