Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2023

The Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2023 establishes new domestic terrorism offices within the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and Federal Bureau of Investigation to monitor, investigate, and prosecute domestic terrorism threats. The bill requires these agencies to submit regular reports tracking domestic terrorism incidents, with specific focus on White supremacist and neo-Nazi groups, including statistics on investigations, arrests, prosecutions, and weapons recoveries. It mandates training for law enforcement on domestic terrorism threats and creates a Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee to coordinate efforts across agencies. The new offices and requirements will sunset after 10 years.
