End Fentanyl Trafficking with Local Task Forces Act of 2024

This bill creates a federal grant program to help local law enforcement combat fentanyl trafficking, allocating $70 million annually from 2025 through 2029. Eligible applicants include states, local governments, tribal entities, and multi-jurisdictional task forces, which can use funds for hiring staff, purchasing equipment, or expanding existing task forces focused on disrupting fentanyl distribution. At least 20% of the funding must support tribal efforts and 20% must go to multi-jurisdictional task forces. Grantees must submit detailed applications and report annually to Congress on program effectiveness.
