Washington, D.C. Residents Voting Act

The Washington, D.C. Residents Voting Act (HR 980) proposes transferring the District of Columbia to Maryland while creating a "Federal District" to maintain federal government buildings and operations. The bill would allow DC residents to vote in Maryland elections through absentee ballots (Section 221), repeal the District of Columbia's delegate to the House of Representatives (Section 222), and eliminate DC's voting rights in presidential elections (Section 223).
