Public Land Renewable Energy Development Act of 2024

This bill establishes a revenue-sharing system for renewable energy projects (wind and solar) on federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Starting January 1, 2025, 25% of collected fees from these projects will go to the state where the project is located, 25% to affected counties (based on land percentage), 25% to fund faster permitting for new projects, and 25% to a conservation fund. The conservation fund finances habitat restoration, wildlife corridors, wetland protection, and improved recreational access on federal lands impacted by renewable energy development. It directly affects states, counties, and project owners who pay fees for wind/solar operations on eligible federal land.
