HR 8532 United States House · 118th Congress

Connected MOM Act

This bill requires the Health Secretary to study Medicaid coverage of remote health monitoring devices (like blood pressure cuffs and pulse oximeters) for pregnant and postpartum women enrolled in Medicaid. Within 18 months, the Secretary must report to Congress on current coverage barriers, their impact on maternal health outcomes, and recommendations to address them. Based on this report, the Secretary will update state Medicaid resources (such as telehealth toolkits) within 6 months to help states improve coverage of these devices. The bill focuses on gathering data and supporting states - not directly changing coverage rules.
