HR 6966 United States House · 118th Congress

Go Pack Go Act of 2024

HR 6966, the "Go Pack Go Act of 2024," allows subscribers in 13 specific Wisconsin counties (Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Dunn, Florence, Iron, Pierce, Polk, Sawyer, St. Croix, and Washburn) to choose between receiving their local network station signal or an "in-State, adjacent-market" network station signal from a neighboring county. Cable and satellite providers must offer this choice to subscribers in those counties, and providing the adjacent-market signal fulfills existing obligations to carry the local signal. The bill clarifies that this option does not affect providers' status as "qualified carriers" under copyright law or count toward retransmission limits. It directly affects subscribers in these Wisconsin counties and the cable/satellite providers serving them.
