Office of Colonias and Farmworker Initiatives Establishment Act of 2023

This bill establishes a new Office of Colonias and Farmworker Initiatives within the U.S. Department of Agriculture to improve access to federal programs for border colonias communities, farmworkers, and their families. The office will set goals for equitable participation, coordinate with agencies on housing, health, and education, and provide input on policies affecting these groups. It also creates a Colonias Coordinator position to liaise with community organizations and a federal committee with representatives from agencies like Housing, Health, and Education to identify solutions and share best practices. The bill authorizes $2.5 million annually for the office from 2024 through 2029.
