Cleaning Product Ingredient Communication Act
The Cleaning Product Ingredient Communication Act requires manufacturers of most household and commercial cleaning products to disclose all intentionally added ingredients on product labels and on a publicly accessible website in an accessible format. Manufacturers must list ingredients by weight (descending order), include fragrance allergen information when present at 0.01% or higher, and provide a toll-free number and website address for additional information. The law sets accessibility standards requiring the website information to be no more than five clicks away from the label and compliant with web accessibility guidelines. This applies to products defined as cleaning products, air care products, automotive products, and general cleaning products, excluding certain food, drug, cosmetic, and industrial products. The law takes effect on January 1, 2026.
