District of Columbia Courts Judicial Vacancy Reduction Act

This bill changes how judges are appointed to District of Columbia courts. Instead of the President nominating judges for Senate confirmation, the President must now appoint judges directly from a list recommended by the District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission. Congress can block an appointment within 30 days by passing a resolution disapproving it. The bill applies to all new appointments after enactment and sets rules for pending nominations as of the bill's effective date.
