Increasing Access to Biosimilars Act of 2023

HR 1352, the Increasing Access to Biosimilars Act of 2023, establishes a 3-year Medicare demonstration project to test whether paying providers extra when biosimilar drugs cost less than original brand drugs improves access. The project would add a payment to participating Medicare Part B providers based on the cost difference between biosimilars and reference drugs, without increasing patient cost-sharing. Participation is voluntary for providers and does not affect their participation in other Medicare models like the Oncology Care Model.
