STREAMS regional wastewater treatment facility design appropriation and bond issuance authorization

This bill authorizes the issuance of up to $4 million in state bonds to fund the design phase of the STREAMS regional wastewater treatment facility. The funds will be granted to the cities of Winthrop, New Auburn, and Lafayette to support planning and engineering work for the project. Once approved, the commissioner of management and budget will sell the bonds to generate the necessary capital for these grants. The legislation takes effect immediately upon final passage by the legislature.
