Medina, Independence, and Loretto and Hennepin County railroad crossing safety bond issue and appropriation

This bill authorizes the state of Minnesota to issue up to $390,000 in bonds to fund railroad crossing safety improvements in Hennepin County and the cities of Medina, Independence, and Loretto. The funds would be used to design, engineer, and construct safety upgrades at railroad crossings and reconstruct streets in these locations. The commissioner of transportation would distribute the money through grants to the county and cities for these projects. The bill becomes effective the day after it is passed by the legislature.
