Prohibit screen time for children in preschool and kindergarten

This bill would ban the use of personal electronic devices like tablets and smartphones by children in Minnesota's publicly funded preschool and kindergarten programs. The restriction applies only when children are at school and does not allow device use without teacher or peer engagement. Schools must still permit device access for students with individualized education plans, family service plans, or 504 plans. The law would take effect on July 1, 2026.
